Salman Nissan is a Partner at Osterwald Rathbone & Partners in London. He is a highly experienced consultant, with expertise in a number of areas, including business and investment appraisal, valuation and corporate finance, particularly in oil, gas, refining and petrochemicals.
He has been responsible for providing a wide range of strategic and business advice to clients, particularly private companies wishing to make strategic acquisitions or disposals and governments seeking assistance with state owned industries or enterprises. He also has experience in working closely with corporates and private equity firms in undertaking valuations, financial and commercial due diligence for disposals and acquisitions in various sectors including energy and manufacturing. His client base covers a wide geography, including Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle and Near East, Africa and Asia.
Salman has provided both transaction and strategic advice to state-owned and independent oil and gas companies, as well as international investment funds operating in oil, gas and petrochemical, together with the wider energy sector. He recently provided valuation, due diligence, investment appraisal and negotiation support advice to a national oil company on a multi-billion-dollar joint venture investment in a greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex in north-eastern China. His experience includes advising on strategy, valuation and transaction support, including financial and commercial due diligence.
Salman has also acted for several clients on dispute matters including quantum evaluations on various arbitrations over contractual and lost profits issues and on an accounting and finance UNCITRAL arbitration concerning the interpretation of a loan agreement.
Salman is a Chartered Accountant and speaks Arabic.
